Document Delivery

Home

Document Delivery allows patrons to request:

  • articles that are not available at the ACG libraries,
  • book chapters from books not available at the ACG libraries,
  • scanned copies of journal articles from the ACG microfilm collection, ALBA, and Pierce libraries.

Faculty and staff can also request up to two (2) books at a time from the British Library .

Document Delivery and cost

If an item is not available at the ACG Libraries, we use an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system to request it from other libraries worldwide.

Submitting a request

When you locate an item in Discovery and there is no full text available, there will be a request button under 'Check Availability'. To submit this request:

  1. Click on the Interlibrary Loan button from the item record in Discovery (see example below).
  2. Fill in the request form.

Alternatively, you can fill in the Article Request Form .

Electronic copies of articles and book chapters are usually available via email within five (5) working days.

Charges

We are able to offer most items for free, however, charges may vary depending on the source of the article or book chapter. If there is a cost associated with your request and that is more than €5, we will contact you before purchasing. To pay for document delivery, you’ll need to come by the library.
