The Archives and Special Collections of The American College of Greece constitutes a division within JSB Library and operates on a dual mission, both as an Institutional Archives and a Collecting Repository.
Following the mission of The American College of Greece to add distinctive value to the lives of its students “through transformative teaching, scholarship and service” and to establish itself as “Greece's premier, independent university”, ACG Archives and Special Collections:
- provides records management services to ACG
- preserves and supports faculty and student research and classroom instruction
- promotes the development of a collection repository for Greek- American relations, history and culture.
The ACG Institutional Archives collects, preserves, organizes and makes available material related to the history and activities of The American College of Greece, and consists of a variety of documents: presidential papers, documents from academic departments, administrative and services offices, student organizations and extra-curricular activities. It also holds a large collection of published items: yearbooks, catalogs, journals and newsletters, photographs, and audio-visual media.
The ACG Collecting Repository for Special Collections preserves and provides access to the papers and special collections of selected individuals, who have been affiliated with the ACG throughout its operation and through their intellectual activity have had an impact on Greek culture.
