We are thrilled to announce new subscriptions to Web of Science , Journal Citation Reports , and InCites Essential Science Indicators by Clarivate.

1. Web of Science (WoS) is a bibliometrics and citation analysis platform that comprises a collection of citation indexes, and provides access to reference and citation data from academic journals, conference proceedings, and other resources in various academic disciplines. It contains a great variety of analytics and insights, as well as workflow tools and professional services for researchers. Some of the included indexes are listed below.

  • Web of Science Core Collection including Science Citation Index Expanded (2003-present), Social Sciences Citation Index (2003-present), Arts & Humanities Citation Index (2003-present), Citation Index (2005-present), Conference Proceedings Citation Index™ (2003-present), and Emerging Sources Citation Index (2018-present)

  • Medline (1950-present)

  • SciELO Citation Index (1997-present)

  • Preprints Citation Index (1991-present)

For more information, visit the Web of Science help guide , or the Getting Started with Web of Science learning portal .  Although access to WoS is provided via IP authentication and EZproxy, you may also register to take full advantage of its features (e.g. managing saved searches, saving marked lists).

2. Journal Citation Reports (JCR) aggregates the meaningful connections of citations created by the research community through the delivery of a rich array of publisher-independent data, metrics and analysis of the world’s most impactful journals included in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Arts & Humanities Citation Index (AHCI), and the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). It contains data required to understand the components that index the value and impact of each journal. The structured data are curated by a global team of experts who continuously evaluate and select the collections of journals, books and conference proceedings covered in the Web of Science Core Collection to ensure accuracy in evaluating journal impact. These expert insights enable researchers to explore the key drivers of a journal’s value, making better use of the wide body of data and metrics available in the Journal Citation Reports, including the Journal Impact Factor (JIF)™ and the Journal Citation Indicator (JCI).

For more information, visit the Journal Citation Reports help guide , or the Journal Citation Reports learning portal .

3. InCites Essential Science Indicators (ESI) is an analytical tool that helps researchers identify top-performing research in Web of Science Core Collection. It surveys more than 11,000 journals from around the world to rank authors, institutions, countries, and journals in 22 broad fields based on publication and citation performance. Researchers can also compare the citation performance of a paper with that of its peers by both publication period and field, and identify trends and emerging areas of research in the sciences and social sciences.

For more information, visit the InCites Essential Science Indicators help guide , or the Getting Started with Essential Science Indicators learning portal .

All three resources can be accessed through the A-Z Database List, and are available from both on- and off-campus.
