Library Support for Students During COVID-19 Crisis

Library Services for Students

While the library remains closed for study or research, we continue to support students in the best possible way.

For more details please see below.

Loans, returns and renewals

Books you have on loan

All loans have been extended to Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

To borrow a book

Students can borrow a book after they place a request on Discovery . The library staff will retrieve the books from the shelves and check them out to the student.

If you proceed with such a request, we will contact you and inform you that your books are ready to be picked up.

To return a book

Students are required to make an appointment in advance. They will be allowed to come to the library only to drop off the books. All books will stay in quarantine for 72 hours before they are returned to the shelves.

Remote access to resources

Discovery  and Library resources are accessible from off campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Read more

In regard to online resources that are not accessible remotely, the library staff will conduct searches on your behalf upon request. The results will be forwarded to you via email.

Below you may find a list of the resources that do not allow off-campus access.

  • Data.Prisma
  • Literary Encyclopedia

To conduct a search on your behalf, email the Reference Desk at [email protected].

Document delivery services

The library will continue to offer document delivery services as usual. However, please note that your request may take longer than usual to deliver as many libraries around the world are either closed or work with limited staff.

Scanning of book chapters and excerpts

For students who are out of town or unable to come to the library, the library staff will scan and forward to them material from print books and journals upon request. Please note that due to copyright restrictions, the scanned material cannot be more than two (2) chapters nor exceed the 10% of the total number of the book pages.

If you have such a request, please email us at library@acg.edu with the details of the resource including the section and/or the pages of the excerpt so we can proceed with the scanning.

Consultations & personalized assistance

Remote consultations and personalized assistance are available via phone or the web (through Skype or MS Team) upon request.

If you have such a request, please contact the Reference Desk via email at [email protected].
