The library offers general library instruction, as well as subject-specific workshops. Their content ranges from simple library tours to hands-on workshops concentrating on the use of specific online resources.
The Library Workshops constitute a series of sessions that aim at educating you on various information literacy and referencing issues. We are currently offering the following library workshops. Please note that seat availability is limited and that your registration is required. All workshops are held online via MS Teams.
APA for Graduate Students
This workshop addresses graduate students. It focuses on issues of paper formatting, in-text citations, and bibliographic citation building following the referencing style of the American Psychological Association. The workshop is based on APA7.

APA Referencing Basics
This workshop mainly addresses undergraduate students attending courses in the social sciences and business. It is also open to anyone interested in refreshing their citation building skills or learning the basics of the referencing style of the American Psychological Association. Participants will become acquainted with the library’s APA citation guide and learn how to build correct citations of basic types of sources. The workshop is based on APA7.

Become a Google Scholar "Guru"
This workshop is open to sophomore or older students, faculty, and staff, who wish to enhance their research skills by familiarizing themselves with a sophisticated research tool like Google Scholar. Participants will learn how to operate Google Scholar to retrieve full-text resources, organize their results with Google Scholar features, and evaluate articles with Google Scholar bibliometric tools.

Crash Course on APA Paper Formatting
This workshop is open to anyone, who wishes to learn the basic paper formatting guidelines of the APA style. Participants will be taught all the functions of MS Word necessary for them to properly format their APA papers. The workshop is based on APA7.

Library 1000: Resources for Graduate Students
This workshop is designed to meet the research needs of graduate students. Its purpose is to introduce participants to the print and electronic resources available at the ACG Libraries. It also aims at familiarizing them with the John S. Bailey Library website and services.

Mendeley: Citation made easier
Mendeley is a free reference manager that can help you store, organize, note, share and cite references and research data. Join the workshop and learn how to:
- Download and set up Mendeley and create an account
- Import references to Mendeley from databases using the Mendeley web importer or manually
- Organize and manage sources (create folders, subfolders)
- Add in-text citations and a bibliography using Mendeley cite (Word plugin)
- Create groups to collaborate with your colleagues

This workshop mainly addresses undergraduate students attending courses in the humanities, but is also open to anyone interested in refreshing their citation building skills or learning the basics of the referencing style of the Modern Language Association. Participants will become acquainted with the library’s online MLA citation guide and learn how to build correct citations of basic types of sources. The workshop is based on MLA9.

Zotero: Citation made easier
Looking for a tool to help you organize and cite your sources? Zotero (zoh-TAIR-oh) is a free citation management system that collects, organizes, and even cites sources in Google Docs or Microsoft Word. During this workshop, participants will learn to:
- Download and set up Zotero & create an account
- Import sources using the Zotero Connector browser extension or manually
- Organize and manage sources (create folders, subfolders, merge duplicates, add notes and tags)
- Cite sources using Google Docs or Microsoft Word
