Library Support for Faculty During COVID-19 Crisis

Library Services for Faculty

While the library remains closed for study or research, we continue to support faculty in the best possible way.

For more details please see below.

Loans, returns, renewals

Books you have on loan

All loans have been extended to Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

To borrow a book

Faculty members can borrow a book after they place a request on Discovery . The library staff will retrieve the books from the shelves and check them out to the faculty member.

If you proceed with such a request, we will contact you and inform you that your books are ready to be picked up.

To return a book

Faculty members are required to make an appointment in advance. They will be allowed to come to the library only to drop off the books. All books will stay in quarantine for 72 hours before they are returned to the shelves.

Remote access to resources

Discovery  and Library resources are accessible from off campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Read more

Please make sure you are using the Proxied URLs for linking directly to library resources remotely or via Blackboard. Read more .

In regard to online resources that are not accessible remotely, the library staff will conduct searches on your behalf upon request. The results will be forwarded to you via email.

Below you may find a list of the resources that do not allow off-campus access.

  • Data.Prisma
  • Literary Encyclopedia

To conduct a search on your behalf, contact the Reference Desk via email at [email protected].

Document delivery services

The library will continue to offer document delivery services as usual. However, please note that your request may take longer than usual to deliver as many libraries around the world are either closed or work with limited staff.

In regard to requested books, the library will try to purchase them in electronic format.

Scanning of book chapters and excerpts.

For faculty members who cannot access the library during the opening hours, the library staff will scan and forward to them material from print books and journals upon request. Please note that due to copyright restrictions, the scanned material cannot be more than two (2) chapters nor exceed the 10% of the total number of the book pages.

If you have such a request, please email us at [email protected] with the details of the resource including the section and/or the pages of the excerpt so we can proceed with the scanning.

To request scanned chapters from print books to be uploaded on Blackboard, please email us with the details of the source.
