All our subscription databases are restricted to current students, faculty, and staff and available from off-campus. EZproxy is a system that allows you to sign in and use databases as if you were on campus. By signing in to EZproxy with your ACG Network Username and Password, you can use the library’s databases from anywhere just as if you were on campus!
Signing in to EZproxy
When you are off-campus and try to access one of our databases, you will get the message shown below and be asked to sign in to EZproxy with your ACG Network Username and Password. Once you are connected to EZproxy, you will be granted access to all our databases for the duration of your session.
Exceptions
On the library website, databases with off-campus access are indicated with the home icon (
). However, please note the exceptions below.
When you create a personal account, we strongly recommend you use your institutional email address.
Discovery is openly available and you don't need to sign in to search for books and articles. However, you will need to sign in with your ACG Network Credentials to access full text while off-campus, save lists of sources, renew items, and/or check your holds.
Journal Finder is also openly available allowing you to search for periodicals and other online resources.
How does EZproxy work?
Once you sign in, EZproxy alters URLs so that you connect to EZproxy instead of accessing our databases directly. EZproxy then connects on your behalf to the databases, obtains the webpages, and sends them back to you. This process, called “proxying”, happens seamlessly after you sign in to EZproxy. EZproxy is compatible with all browsers and devices. No additional software or configuration is required. All the databases on the library’s website are already proxied. You can also proxy URLs to specific articles or journals, making them accessible from off-campus to authenticated users.
