Statistical data and reports are very significant information sources in most fields of study, including business, the social and natural sciences. Company, industry, consumer, and other data provide useful insight on how businesses, markets, societies, and nature work, and can serve as persuasive evidence when writing papers. However, never forget to examine how and by who the statistics that you intend to use were gathered, as the collection and sampling methodology may influence data analysis and interpretation.

Check Statista's Life industry and the Personality & Behavior sub-industry within it to discover up-to-date figures and insights about people's ethical states, spiritual beliefs, personality traits, major fears, psychological well-being, and so on. Some of the most popular statistics included in the database refer to positions on LGBTQ rights, worries about future events, such as war, climate change, and human rights.

The Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Program The DHS Program has earned a worldwide reputation for collecting and disseminating accurate, nationally representative data on fertility, family planning, maternal and child health, gender, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and nutrition.
Demographic Yearbook System | United Nations Statistics Division The Demographic Yearbook disseminates statistics on population size and composition, births, deaths, marriage and divorce, as well as respective rates, on an annual basis. The Demographic Yearbook census datasets cover a wide range of additional topics including economic activity, educational attainment, household characteristics, housing characteristics, ethnicity, language, foreign-born and foreign population.
Explore Census Data | United States Census Bureau The US Census Bureau gives access to statistical data, news and more on topics such as age and sex, business and economy, education, health, income and poverty, population, race, etc. Demographic and economic data are available through data.census.gov, the bureau's new platform.
GSS Data Explorer GSS Data Explorer was designed to make the General Social Survey more accessible and provide the tools necessary to transform data into useful knowledge. It contains a standard "core" of demographic, behavioral, and attitudinal questions and topics of special interest and tracks the opinions of Americans.
Our World in Data Our World in Data contains more than 3,000 interactive charts and numerous articles on topics such as demographic change, health, living conditions, poverty and more.
Population Censuses' Datasets (1995 - Present) | United Nations Statistics Division The United Nations Statistics Division collects from all the National Statistical Offices several population censuses' datasets. The data are collected via the Demographic Yearbook census questionnaires.
Population Data Portal | United Nations Population Fund The Population Data Portal is UNFPA’s ultimate data source and tracker for population and development data. It combines the newest population data on topics like sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, family planning, maternal health, or gender based violence gathered from a multiple sources.
The State of Working America Data Library | Economic Policy Institute The State of Working America Data Library provides researchers, media, and the public with easily accessible, up-to-date, and comprehensive historical data on the American labor force. It is compiled from Economic Policy Institute analysis of government data sources. Use it to research wages, inequality, and other economic indicators over time and among demographic groups.
World Population and Housing Census Programme | United Nations Statistics Division The Programme recognizes population and housing censuses as sources of data needed for formulating, implementing and monitoring policies and programmes aimed at inclusive socioeconomic development and environmental sustainability. It also recognizes them as important sources of disaggregated data needed for the measurement of progress.
World Population Prospects | United Nations Population estimates and projections prepared by the Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat. The main results display key demographic indicators for each UN development group, World Bank income group, geographic region, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) region, subregion and country or area for selected periods or dates within 1950-2100.

CDC Wonder | Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC Wide-ranging ONline Data for Epidemiologic Research (CDC WONDER) is a public resource. This application makes many health-related data sets available to CDC staff, public health departments, researchers, and others. The data help with public health research, decision making, priority setting, program evaluation, and resource allocation.

The Global Health Observatory | World Health Organization The Global Health Observatory is an initiative of the World Health Organization to share data on global health, including statistics by country and information about specific diseases and health measures.
HealthData.gov On this site, you can find data on a wide range of topics, including environmental health, medical devices, Medicare & Medicaid, social services, community health, mental health, and substance abuse.
Health Nutrition and Population Statistics | The World Bank Key health, nutrition and population statistics gathered from a variety of international sources and provided by The World Bank.
IPUMS International IPUMS-International is dedicated to collecting and distributing social science and health research microdata from around the world. The project goals are to collect and preserve data and documentation, harmonize data, and disseminate the harmonized data free of charge.
National Center for Health Statistics | CDC The mission of the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) is to provide statistical information that will guide actions and policies to improve the health of the American people.
