What is the Economist app?

The Economist mobile app includes a daily selection of articles, along with the full weekly version of The Economist publication to read or listen to on the go. Link the app to the library's subscription and get access to full text articles, top stories, Economist's The World in Brief, morning briefings on the day ahead, and a selection of podcasts, right on your mobile device.

What are the app's main features?

The Economist app allows you to:

  • explore all issues at once or select to search within specific featured topic categories;
  • create personal reading lists, using the "Build queue" feature;
  • listen to the audio versions of articles;
  • check the reading times for each article;
  • adjust text size to meet your needs;
  • bookmark articles to read later;
  • share articles via social media or email with other Economist subscribers; or
  • gift five (5) articles per month to non-subscribers.

How can I connect the Economist app to the library?

To have access to the ACG Libraries' subscription through the mobile app, you need to authorize it with your personal Economist account. This means you first need to create an account with your institutional email. Once you have an account, follow the steps below:

  • Open the Economist app.
  • Tap "Get started".
  • Tap "Settings".
